Valid tickets, denied boarding: Air India Express told to pay Rs 70,287 to passengers

Air India Express was ordered to refund Rs 20,287 to a mother and her young son. They were denied boarding on a Kochi-Abu Dhabi flight despite holding valid travel documents. Consequently, they incurred additional expenses to travel to Sharjah and faced hardships during the journey. The consumer commission awarded compensation of Rs 40,000 for the inconvenience and Rs 10,000 for litigation costs.
